Obituary For Gertrude L. White
Mrs. Gertrude L. White, of Cottondale, Florida transitioned from life temporal to life eternal on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Jackson Hospital in Marianna, Florida.
Homegoing Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 11:00 AM from the sanctuary of St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church located at 2891 Orange Street in Marianna, Florida 32448 where the Reverend Ronald D. Mizer is the pastor with the Reverend Dovie Lewis officiating.
Interment will be in the Mt. Ararat African Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery located at 2799 Leland Road in Marianna, Florida.
Mrs. White will lie in repose at the church from 10:00 AM until time for the service.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM at Vann Funeral Home.
She leaves to cherish a lifetime of fond, yet precious memories, a loving and devoted family:
Five Children: Carol L. Pettway, Pelvo (Linda)White Jr. and Rev. Dovie Lewis all of Marianna, Florida; Kenneth (Jeanette) White of Melbourne, Florida and Minister Marilyn (Charles) Leveritte of Streamwood, Illinois
Two Brothers: Coriel Albert Long of Valdosta, Georgia and Frederick (Martha) Long of Denver, Colorado
Sister: Mariah Long Fair of Bluffton, South Carolina
Eight grandchildren, Fourteen Great Grandchildren
And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many dear friends.
