Mrs. Helen Porter Godwin, of Blountstown, Florida, formerly of Marianna, Florida, transitioned from life temporal to life eternal on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at River Valley Rehabilitation Center, in Blountstown, Florida.

Mrs. Godwin was a member of the St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church in Marianna, Florida.

Homegoing Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 11:00 AM from the sanctuary of St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church located at 2891 Orange Street in Marianna, Florida 32448 with Pastor Ronald D. Mizer, officiating.

Interment will be in the Orange Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Godwin will lie in repose at the church from 10:00 AM until time for the service.

A public viewing will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM at Vann Funeral Home.

She leaves to cherish a lifetime of fond, yet precious memories, a loving and devoted family:

Three Daughters: Patricia Ann (Horace) Mitchell, Doris (Willie) Riley and Regina Garrett

Two Brothers: Roy Porter and Eddie Porter

Two Sisters: Iola “Tot” Rivers Bell and Lillie “Teenie” Porter

Seven grandchildren, Fourteen Great Grandchildren and a host of special nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
