Obituary For James L. Speights

Mr. James Speights, of Marianna, Florida transitioned from life temporal to life eternal on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at his residence.

Homegoing Celebration of Life services will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024, at 1:00 PM from the sanctuary of Mt. Olive Africa Methodist Episcopal Church located at 2135 Fairview Road in Marianna, Florida 32448.

Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Speights will lie in repose at the church from 12:00 Noon until time for the service.

A public viewing will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Vann Funeral Home.

He leaves to cherish a lifetime of fond, yet precious memories, a loving and devoted family:

Five Daughters: Nellie Bell of Marianna, Florida; Linda Sterling of Huntsville, Alabama; Juanita Brown of Killeen, Texas; Donna L. Graham of Columbus, Georgia and Sandra D. Oakman of Marianna, Florida

One Son: James L. Speights, Jr. of Marianna, Florida

One Brother: Charles Speights of Marianna, Florida

Two Sisters: Maggie Tanner of Marianna, Florida and Mary Nell and husband, Rev. Jerry Tanner of Tallahassee, Florida

And a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
