Brother LaDray Brandan Gilbert, Juris Doctor (J.D.), a Native of Jackson County, Florida, was born on November 26, 1981, to proud parents, the late Mr. Johnnie and the late Mrs. Carnell Gilbert. LaDray was a current resident of Atlanta, Georgia.
Brother LaDray’s son, Keston Gilbert, proceeded him in death. He made a lasting impact on everyone he came in contact with. To know LaDray was to love him.
Brother Gilbert’s life was enriched by accepting Jesus Christ as his personal savior and joining his home church, Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Malone, Florida.
LaDray gave unselfishly of himself to various civic and social organizations. Brother Gilbert was a proud member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. He was also a proud graduate of the Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University. On February 26, 2026, the Lord called LaDray from labor to reward.
In lieu of floral tributes, the family requests that memorial donations to an account setup for the surviving children of LaDray (Madison and Maddox).
A Memorial Celebration Service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 1:00 PM CST from the sanctuary of the Saint Luke Missionary Baptist Church located at 2871 Orange Street in Marianna, Florida 32448 where the Reverend Travis Ephraim is the pastor.
The service will be livestreamed on St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church’s (Marianna, Florida) Facebook page on the day of the memorial gathering. Also, you can access it by going to the St. Luke webpage at: stluke1867.org.

I am so sad. Ladray jumped in my DM on LinkedIn to be supportive of our organization. We assist suicide loss survivors. He believed in us and helped us tremendously. He also saved my life by inviting me to an health fair.Ladray was that dude in our lives and he will be missed. To his family and friends we send our prayers and condolences. Just know Ladray left a mark and legacy.His work is not in vain.
I want to offer my sincerest condolences to the Gilbert family. I remember meeting LaDray through his civic work with the Education Foundation in the community.
