Mr. Michael Barnes, of Marianna, Florida transitioned from life temporal to life eternal on Monday, November 4, 2024, in Marianna, Florida.

Homegoing Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 11:00 AM from the sanctuary of Union Hill Baptist Church located at 3115 Union Hill Road in Marianna, Florida 32446 with Pastor Eric Griffin, officiating.

Interment will be in the Union Hill Church Cemetery in Marianna, Florida.

Mr. Barnes will lie in repose at the church from 10:00 AM until time for the service.

A public viewing will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Vann Funeral Home.

He leaves to cherish a lifetime of fond, yet precious memories, a loving and devoted family:

Father: George (Linda) Barnes, Jr. of Bascom, Florida

One Sister: Catherine (Maurice) Clay of Marianna, Florida

Four Brothers: Danny Barnes of Tampa, Florida; Randall Barnes of Marianna, Florida; Donnell Barnes of Malone, Florida and Torriano Barnes of Greenwood, Florida

And a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.

Mike was one of the most easy going person I've had the pleasure of knowing. We grew up together riding the same bus. He never let me go without. If he had it I had. His smile was contagious. Just being in his presence was a treat. The last time I saw him in Marianna I cried, and he told me "Don't cry for me Jack. When you see me I want you to be happy". So I smiled. I never knew it would be the last time he'd see me smile. Sleep with the Angles my friend. We will meet again someday. I love you friend...
