Mother Ora Lee Kendall Sims, age 106, transitioned from life temporal to life eternal on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 in Signature Healthcare at the Courtyard. To know her was to love her.
Mother Sims was a member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. She was educated in the schools of Jackson County, Florida. She was a cook with C & L Railroad and later Greyhound Bus Lines until her retirement in 1977.
Graveside Celebration of Life services will be held on Monday, August 16, 2021 at 10:00 AM from the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Cottondale, Florida with the Reverend Doctor Henry Forward (pastor), Reverend Eddie Bowers, Elder DeRon Johnson, Minister Anguel Johnson, and the Reverend Thomas Forward officiating.
A walk-though only public viewing will be held on Sunday, August 15, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Vann Funeral Home.
Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Guidance will be followed for the wearing of masks and social distancing for the viewing and graveside service.
She leaves to celebrate 106 years of life, a loving family:
A godson, an adopted granddaughter, and a host of nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, other sorrowing family and friends.
One of the greatest gift's God could ever give was Sister Sim's being a lifetime member of New Ebenezer MBC. She truly was a willing worker for Christ until the day He called her from labor to reward, she will be missed, to God be the glory..
