Obituary For Zoraida Gray

Mrs. Zoraida Argelis Moreno Gray, of Cottondale, Florida, transitioned from this life on Thursday, January 1, 2026. Zoraida was born on March 9, 1958 in Panama City, Panama to the late Dimas Moreno and Natividad Algumedez.

She was preceded in death by her father, her sisters, Angelica Morena de Fong and Vielka Moreno de Luna, and her brothers, Ricardo and Leonel Algumendez.

In 1983 she married Larry E. Gray while he was stationed in Panama with the United States Army. They later settled in Jackson County, Florida where she lived and worked for many years.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and woman of faith. Zoraida was hardworking, God-fearing, loving, and known for her humor and kindness. She enjoyed fried mullet, a good steak, potato salad, Indian movies, and the peace of her home She was a faithful member of St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church in Cottondale, Florida.

She worked 16 tears at Russell’s Sewing Plant, 10 years at West Point Stevens, and 6 years at the Family Dollar Distribution Center where she retired in 2022.

The family extends special thanks to VITAS Hospice care, especially Nurse Nancy.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete, but will be announced later by Vann Funeral Home.

She is survived by a loving family:

Husband: Larry E. Gray, Sr.; Children: Mirtha Argelis Torres Moreno, Belkis Linnette Torres Moreno, Larry Gray, LeeKesha Hobdy, and Joseph Hobdy; twelve grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren,her siblings: Juana hinds, Yira Hinds, Luzmila Algumendez, Eric Algumendez, Marianela Moreno Jameson, Ana Moreno, and Dimas Moreno, Jr.; and a host of extended family and friends.
