Mr. John Franklin Whitaker passed on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at his residence in Lancaster, South Carolina. Mr. Whitaker was a son of the late Mr. John Whitaker, Jr. and the late Mrs. Lorraine Welch Whitaker. He was born January 30, 1955, in Monroe, North Carolina.
John enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his wife, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lorraine Welch Whitaker, Jr.; his son, John Whitaker, Jr; a grandbaby, La'Kias Whitaker; siblings, Charles, Margaret, Katherine, Nancy, Myrtis.
John leaves to cherish fond memories, his wife, Pamela Starnes Whitaker of the home; his daughters, Lori Ann Whitaker (Chris) of Davidson, North Carolina and Margie Whitaker (Jerome) of Lancaster, South Carolina; five grandchildren, Bethany, Emily, Alex, Kadaishia, Aryonna; four grandchildren, Atlas, Arely. Cecilia, Promise; his sister, Vickie Sanders (Tommy) of North Myrtle Beach; two sisters in laws, Brenda Knight and Linda Beckham both of Lancaster, South Carolina; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
The family is receiving friends at the home. Arrangements will be announced by Washington Funeral Home in Great Falls, South Carolina.
