Mr. Nelson “June” Coleman, Jr. passed on Friday, March 13, 2026 at Lancaster Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lancaster, SC.
A Funeral Service celebrating his life will be held 2 PM Thursday, March 19, 2026 at Washington Funeral Home in Great Falls, South Carolina with Reverend Timothy McCullough officiating and delivering the Words of Comfort. Burial will be at New Independent Methodist Church Cemetery 371 Odyssey Drive in Blackstock, South Carolina where Reverend Terry Thompson is the pastor.
A viewing will be held from 2-7PM Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at Washington Funeral Home in Great Falls, S.C.
"June: was a son of the late Mr. Nelson Coleman, Sr and the late Mrs. Nettie Jane Gladden Coleman. He was born October 13, 1943 in Chester County, South Carolina.
He was a 1962 graduate of Elizabeth Heights High School in Great Falls, South Carolina. “”June" worked at JP Stevens in Great Falls, South Carolina. He enjoyed fishing, riding on the boat, playing horseshoes, racing, hunting, and baseball. He was a pitcher.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mrs. Georgia Ann Coleman; his daughter, Ms. Terri Sanders; granddaughter, Tiara Coleman; great grandson, Ayden D. Coleman; brothers, Mr. John Calvin Coleman, Mr. Wade Louis Coleman, Mr. Willie B Coleman, Mr. George Frank Coleman and his sister, Mrs. Betty McClurklin.
“June” leaves to cherish fond and loving memories, his daughters, Ms Linda B. Sanders, Ms. Gloria J. Coleman, Ms. Tammy M. Coleman (James Twitty), Ms. Deborah L. Charleston; his son, Mr. Darryl E. Coleman; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Ms. Joanne Moore, Ms. Carolyn Coleman; his brothers, Mr. Jimmy Coleman, Mr. Richard Coleman; sister-in laws- Mrs. Rosa Coleman, Mrs. Rosetta Green, Mrs. Eliose Sanders, Mrs. Willietta (Martin) Copeland, Mrs. Albertha Castleberry; brother- in laws, Mr. Elie Sanders. Mr. Roy (Renee) King and a host of nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
The family is receiving friends at the home of his daughter, Ms. Gloria Coleman of 36 Poplar Street Great Falls, SC.
