Elder James Robert Fitzgerald was the only child born on July 11, 1937 to the late Eugene Fitzgerald and Mary Elizabeth Fitzgerald in Burwood, Tennessee.

Elder Fitzgerald leaves to cherish his memories his children, Denise (Ronald) Caldwell, Dennis (Aundra) Fitzgerald, Delbert Fitzgerald, Mary (Prentice) Bryant, Regina (Anthony) Patton, Debora (Torrance) Benberry, Charles (Sernetta) Lanier, Jr., Ricky (Yolanda) Lanier, Regina (Dennis) Whitley; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; devoted aunt, Tommie Johnson; devoted ex- wife, Hazel Marie Fitzgerald; brothers-in law, Lester Sowell, and James Leslie; sisters-in-law, Idella Manning and Gloria (Obie) Flowers; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins. Special friends Florita Burrus, Harold (Alma) Fuqua, Janie Dodson, Mother Lois Britton, Perrion Carlew-Gordon, Lucille Haynes, Terry Waters and family. Special thanks to the Evergreen PB Church family for the many years of support and dedication.

Elder Fitzgerald will lie in state on Friday, November 15, 2019 from 10 until 5 at the funeral home.

Visitation with family Saturday, November 16, 2019 from 11 until 12 at Lynn Creek Tabernacle, 117 Fairground Street, with funeral to follow. Elder Terence Hailey, officiating, Elder Ronald Caldwell , eulogist.

I remember when I met my cousin Reverend Fitzgerald he filled me in with the Fitzgerald legacy. He was a wonderful guy with lost of wisdom and a godly man that always love family may his soul rest well now unto that great getting up moment. Love you cousin.
