Obituary For Frances Marie "Johnson" Scruggs

Frances Marie (Johnson) Scruggs, 66, of Franklin, Tn, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023.

Frances was born on July 31, 1957 to Robert Samuel (RS) Johnson and Myrtle Frances Taylor in Franklin, Tn.

At the age of 17, she met David Scruggs, who would soon become her spouse and they were happily married for 47 years. Frances leaves behind her husband and two children, Lamont Scruggs and LaShondra Mason.

Frances started her own house/office cleaning service 40 years ago and worked for many doctors, lawyers and musicians in the Franklin/Nashville area. She kept saying she was going to retire, but never got around to it. To her it wasn’t just a job. She became friends with all her clients. She was involved in their lives and the lives of their children. She may have only had two kids of her own, but she helped raised many. They became family.

Frances, along with her husband and children were baptized as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on July 19, 1986. Frances was a faithful member who held most callings in the area of Humanitarian or Emergency Preparedness. Her moto in life was to “Be Prepared”. Frances was always willing to give her time to help someone in need.

Frances was predeceased by her parents, brother Robert Sydney “Rusty” Johnson and sister Aretha Vanessa Johnson. Frances is survived by her husband and children; Grand Children: Darius Scruggs, Frederick Mason III, Jasceny Mason, Brianna Scruggs and Daija Scruggs; sister, Emily Rattler; brother, Robert “RC” (Mary) Pope; 5 sisters-in-law; 2 brothers-in-law; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and devoted friends and clients.

Mrs. Scruggs will lie in state at the funeral home from 12 until 2 p.m..

Visitation with family Friday, September 22, 2023 from 4-8pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 1100 Gray Fox Lane, Franklin, TN.

Funeral Services 3 P.M. Saturday September 23, 2023 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 1100 Gray Fox Lane, Franklin, TN.

Interment Pincrest Memorial Gardens, Columbia , Tennessee.

She was always free to go for carrot cake or lunch or yaed sales. I have fond memories of our day trips to Lawrence burg shopping.she was one of my best friends I will look forward to the day we see her again.
