James Everette Hunt Jr. departed this life on Thursday October 3, 2024 at his residences in Texas. He was born January 16, 1937 in Davidson County, the beloved son of the late James Everett Hunt Sr. and Allene Elizabeth Green.
He leaves to celebrate his life and to cherish his memories two loving children, son, James
(Josella) Hunt III, of Delaware; daughters, Sonja (Tavia) Hunt-Gray, of McKinney, Texas, Deborah (Artemus) Russell (deceased) of Antioch, Tennessee; grandchildren, Desmond (Brittny) Hunt, Everett (Ieisha) Hunt, LaToya (Art) Hill, Keosha Green and Chaquata Russell; great grandchildren; brothers, Jerry Wayne Hunt, Robert Hunt (deceased), Roosevelt “Johnny” Hunt (deceased), sister, Carla Denise; sister-in-laws, Nora Waters, Mattie (Douglas) Hendricks, Sarah (Jewel “deceased”) Sims, Roberta Waters, Juanita Waters and Helen Waters (deceased); brother-in-laws, Mayes (Grace) Waters, Jr., Dan Waters (deceased), David (Lavonia) Waters and Steven Waters (deceased); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mr. Hunt will lie in state on Friday, October 11, 2024 from 12 until 5 at the funeral home.
Visitation with family Saturday, October 12, 2024 from 10 until 11 at Brooks Memorial United Methodist Church, 3303 Brick Church Pike, Nashville, TN 37207 with funeral to began at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Samuel Sims officiating.
Interment, Greenwood Cemetery North, Goodlettsville, TN.
My beautiful friend Sonja and your entire family I am so very sorry for your loss. I know your precious dad was an amazing example of the love of JESUS, and touched and encouraged everyone he met. His legacy lives through each one of you for generations! I am praying for you all that our FATHER comfort and surround you with HIS LOVE AND PEACE through these difficult days ahead.
