I am sorry for your loss my condolences and prayers are with the family
Rest in Peace Soul Train, back in the day on Short Court, you played the music and we all danced and had fun.
Train was a light to me, even when my storm was self-inflicted. He was an inspiration as a man, father, and grandfather - my girls were beyond blessed as his first granddaughters. May God comfort and hold you all close during this time.
"Uncle Train β you have journeyed into another reality with grace, love, dignity, integrity, and with courage. In your philosophy, you described it as being reduced to death, taking nothing with you, and returning to the dust. You embraced this passage with strength and peace.
With love and respect, Your Nephew" Dana Andrew forrest
I lift you all up in prayer during this difficult time. Sending my heartfelt condolences with love and hugs to you in this loss.

I am truly sorry that Mr. Scrugg's light in our community is gone. I worked with him at JES and enjoyed every conversation I had with him. His smile was contagious and warmed my heart. He brought his love and joy for music to share with us at Johnson many times. I had the pleasure of being able to teach some of his sweet grandchildren. May your hearts be comforted and at peace. Cindy Tumblin
My sincere condolences to you Pat and your family. To think that I was with you so many years ago when he asked you to be his girlfriend. We were only teenagers working the summer program at Johnson school and he would come to play basketball. You all have now created so many beautiful memories. I am so happy to have witnessed all this for my beautiful cousin and a beautiful friend as her husband. You have continued to be by each other's side since that beautiful warm summer day. May GOD continue to bless and keep you until that glorious day that we will meet again. I Love you Pat and I loved him too.
To the Scruggs family; I offer my sincere condolences to you. I will miss him so much, we became friends at the Proc's Amateur Show where he was the DJ. We worked over 10 years together on the show. He was so good at what he did and last year he said "PeeWee I'm going to sing a song" and he did!! I will always remember him when I hear that song; "Can't Stay Too Long"!! Train take your rest; we will always remember you and the joy you brought to those who loved and knew you ππΎππΎππΎ
To the Scruggs Family, I lift you all up in prayer. Sending my heartfelt sympathy with love and hugs to you in the loss of your beloved one. Hold tight to your memories. Our God is too wise to make a mistake and to righteous to do wrong. You loved him, but God loved him more.
Our Condolences to the Family in the loss of your Love one.

My deepest prayers and condolences to the family in the loss of Jerry. May GOD give you strength.
Train was a cherished member of our Johnson Elementary School family and a dear friend to me. I will miss him, his smile, his sense of humor and his kindness to all, adults and children alike. I will miss dancing to the music he played at our school events. He just brought joy to others. RIP friend.
I loved running into Jerry at school. He always brightened my day with his kindness and smile.
So sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of working with Train at CPS for 10 years and had the opportunity to catch up with him in October at our reunion. He talked me into playing on the company basketball team with him. The only problem was that I was a wrestler and never played basketball. Train said not to worry. All I needed to do was play defense and rebound because he was going to do all of the shooting. What a blessing it was to be around such a great man filled with true joy. I can't tell you how many times he brought a smile to my face and a positive lift to my spirit.
God bless.
I was so sad to hear about Trains passing. Prayers for the familyπ
