My condolences to Elaine and the family. I will plant a tree in his honor.
I just heard about David's passing today. My heart goes out to his family and friends. I worked with David at The Coca-Cola Company and he was always such a pleasure to talk to and a genuinely caring person. My prayers that your memories bring you comfort through this difficult time.
So sorry for your loss
There are people who pass through this world, and then there are souls who truly leave it brighter than they found it. You were one of those rare, remarkable human beings — kind beyond words, genuine in every way, and simply out of this world.
Your warmth, generosity, and beautiful spirit touched so many lives, and your absence will be deeply felt by everyone fortunate enough to know you. Thank you for the laughter, the kindness, the wisdom, and the unforgettable moments you shared so freely.
May you rest peacefully, David, and may your light continue to live on in the hearts of all those you inspired and loved. You will never be forgotten.
My sincere condolences to all David's dear loved ones, family and friends. I worked with David in and out of the Coca- Cola system for many years, and never found a more genuine, kind hearted, and intelligent person. Whenever I had travel plans to come to Atlanta, I would always try to call or meet at his favorite craft brewery. We would share laughs and stories of the latest jobs we were working on, how we would spend retirement, the recent craft beers we enjoyed, and the latest about our wives, kids and family. We talked recently about any opportunities we would have to do some work together again. David truly was a special person, I will dearly miss our conversations, his sense of humor and his infectious smile. We all will miss him dearly.
My heart is heavy in the loss of my friend David. He was an inspiration and we worked together on many projects together at Coca-Cola. He will be missed and our prayers go out to his family. May God keep you in His arms and continue to bless you many days ahead. We are praying for you!!
I just reconnected with David after working with him closely a The Coca-Cola Company for years. We had not spoken since 2015 but we're planning a ride in the Georgia mountains in the near future.
It is. Shocking to hear this said news after just reconnecting. David and his family will be in my prayers.
Marty Suhr.
Sending heartfelt sympathies to Elaine & her entire family.

I will sincerely miss my coworker and dear friend. I will miss his sense of humor, quick wit and awesome heart to always provide a helping hand when needed. I will miss him and will see him again. Much love ❤️ to Elaine, David, Mike and his family.
Dear Elaine, Little Dave , and Michael, my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. I am so saddened by Big Dave's passing. I have fond memories of the time we lived in IL, playing board games, anxiously awaiting the birth of Micheal, the men folk going to Saturday morning Bible study. Those were some good times! Dave gave me the nickname Patti after the great Patti LaBelle. Lol! He will be sorely missed. I pray that God comfort and keep you and the entire Bynum family during your time of bereavement.
Dave Bynum was, without question, the most brilliant human being I have ever known. But beyond that, he was a remarkable friend, and one of the most genuinely "good" people I have ever had the privilege to know. Our friendship began around 1987 at Abbott, when Dave and I met and bonded almost instantly. Soon our families became close as well, including the amusing coincidence that both of our wives are named Elaine — AKA EB and ET. From the very beginning, there was an ease to our friendship that lasted a lifetime. Over the years, our friendship took on many identities. During our Star Trek: The Next Generation days, I became Captain Picard and Dave became Data — a fitting role for him, considering his mastery of computers and his incredible logical thinking. For years, that is how we referred to one another. Later came the era of the "Jacques." Somehow, through our shared sense of humor and imagination, inspired in part by A Tale of Two Cities, we became Jacques One, Jacques Two, and our friend Thomas, Jacques Three. To us, it made perfect sense, and for many years we proudly carried those titles within our inner circle, even wearing watches that matched the names. Then came the movie Independence Day, where Dave and Steve naturally became the heroes who saved the world. That was the essence of our friendship: humor, imagination, loyalty, and countless good times together. Not to mention the TikToks, the Instagrams, and the music videos. Honestly, I still wonder when he found the time. :>) We shared so much laughter over the years. Our lives intersected again when we both transferred to Illinois with Abbott. Then, in 1988, our paths paralleled once more when we became fathers within days of each other, creating yet another lifetime of adventures and stories to tell. Dave was a great friend, a great human being, and someone whose absence will be deeply felt by everyone fortunate enough to have known him. Given the longevity and good health of Dave's family, he is truly the last person I ever expected to be saying goodbye to. I simply never imagined this day would come. His passing is a reminder not to take life for granted. None of us knows how much time we are given, and Dave's loss reminds us to live fully, appreciate the people we love, and treasure the moments we share together. Elaine, Little Dave, Mike, and the entire Bynum family, my heart goes out to you — and in many ways hurts with you — because I am grieving deeply too. This is not only your loss; it is a loss to all of us, and truly a loss to the world. Rest in peace, Mr. Data. Rest in peace, Jacques Two. Rest in peace, Dave. You will surely be missed. With love and caring, Steve Freeman and Elaine Freeman
