Obituary For Mr. Leon E. Williams

Mr. Leon E. Williams of McDonough, Georgia entered into rest on February 20, 2026.

Leon Edward Williams passed away peacefully on February 20, 2026, at the age of 76. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on December 25, 1949, to Earnest Williams and Mary Wilson. He was true Christmas baby. Leon is noel spelled in reverse.

At age 15, when his mother passed, Leon moved to Norwalk, CT with his maternal grandparents and older brother Earnest (Shirley) Wilson and later became the uncle of a host of nieces and nephews.

In Norwalk, family bonds soon tightened and life longs friendships easily developed. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, reflecting his strong sense of duty, discipline, and commitment to service.

Leon married the love of his life, Joy Nordé, on May 15, 2010. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. He was a proud and devoted father to Samantha and Joshua, and a loving stepfather to Chiyana. Family was at the center of Leon’s life, and he took great pride in the bonds they shared. Leon was a devoted grandfather to Dominque, Craig, Unique, Ojanee, Dayne, and Chiaja. He was also a loving great-grandfather to Amir and Mariyah, who brought him great joy.

In 2021, Leon and family moved to McDonough, GA to live the southern lifestyle. There he developed special bonds with his brother-in-law, Roger, and sister-in-law, Remigia Nordé. His life was defined by integrity, kindness, and deep devotion to his family.

Leon was predeceased by his parents, brother, and grandson, Dominque.

A man of simple pleasures and meaningful connections, Leon enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, faithfully cheering them on. He loved playing Spades with family and friends, where laughter and friendly competition filled the room. He also enjoyed spending time at the casinos playing his favorite slot machines. Leon especially loved vacationing in Florida where he relaxed and created cherished memories.

Leon was known for his warm smile, willingness to listen and steady presence. Whether offering advice, sharing a story or simply sitting quietly with loved ones, he had a way of making people feel valued and heard.

Leon Edward Williams leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, service, and quiet faithfulness. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, honoring Leon’s service, sacrifice, and generous spirit.

A sad day for all of us who loved Leon. He is missed. My brother is no longer struggling or suffering. I will celebrate your life. It was a wonderful ride, and we were blessed in our journey, ghetto kids that made it. A wonderful wife, kids, and a friend who is your brother will keep you in our hearts forever.

Joe
