Nika, Rest on Uncle Steve, you will forever be in our hearts.

Today, when I think about Uncle Steve, I could hear him say hey niece, that always made me smile! The next thing that comes to my mind is not just the man he was, but the way he loved my aunt. His love for her was something you didn't have to search for, it was visible in the way he spoke to her, and the way he cared for her every single day.

What always stood out to me was how happy he made her. There was a peace and a joy in her life because of him, and that is something truly special. He loved her with patience, with loyalty, and with a quiet strength that spoke louder than words ever could.

I will always admire him for that. Because at the end of the day, one of the greatest things a person can do in this life is to love someone well, and he loved my aunt deeply and faithfully and my cousins!

Although we grieve his absence today, we can also hold on to the beautiful truth that his love did not disappear. It lives on in the memories we share, in the life they built together, and most importantly, in the happiness he gave to the woman he loved.

Uncle Steve, thank you for loving my aunt and my cousins the way you did. Thank you for the example you gave us of what real love looks like. You will always be remembered, and you will always be missed, more importantly LOVED! -Chanel

Unc, you are loved by so many because you loved so much. Thank you for staying connected in spite of the distance with holiday and birthday calls. You became my favorite uncle the first time we met. I wasn't even 5 yet and I had my own Uncle Steven (Austin like the 6 million dollar man). When the time comes for us to meet again, we will pick up where we left off.... I love you, unc.

Rest well my forever brother in-law. Thank you for teaching me how to parallel park. It took hours and you were over it but you didn't give up on me. That speaks volumes to your character. You were a family man who stood in the gaps to assist and didn't look for recognition or applause. Your legacy will live on through all of us....

I believe the body is a vessel that houses the essence of who we really are. I believe we are spiritual beings that were made in the image and likeness of God. I believe that the spirit of God resides in this body with us. I believe that when thr body dies, the spirit and essence of who we are is released from the body. I believe that the essence of who we really are, never dies. Steve spirit is all around you. Take the time to be still so you can sense when he is there with you.
