Annie Laura Mitchell was born June 16, 1937 to the late Mr. Eddie Lee Fulton and Mrs. Lizzie Mae O'Neal in Greene County, Georgia. Annie departed this life on June 27, 2021 at home.
Annie worked at Union Point Elementary School for 29 years where she served our children in the cafeteria, retiring June 2002. She was the kids "Mother" at school. She loved fishing and cooking. Annie was a family person to everybody.
Annie Laura Mitchell united in holy matrimony to the late Mr. Charlie Mitchell on June 30, 1956 and to this union 8 children were born. This marriage lasted 54 years until the death of her loved one, Charlie Mitchell, was called home in 2010.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her 3 sisters, Ella Mae Partee, Mary Alice Smith and Sarah Lowe.
Annie life is celebrated by her children, one son and seven daughters: Robert (Bobbie) Mitchell of Athens, Georgia, Peggy Johnson, Athens, GA, Susan Smith, Penfield, GA, Paulette (Reginald) Rush, Athens, GA, Diane (Jeffrey) Williams, Athens, GA, Shirley (Rodney) Freeman, Columbus, GA, Gloria (Keith) Jenkins, Lithonia, GA and Cassandra (Malcolm) Pass of Colbert, GA; 3 sisters, Helen Fulton, Bobbie Johnson and Patricia Fletcher of Atlanta, GA; two sisters-in-law, Johnnie Mae Jackson, Woodville, GA and Bessie Mae Mitchell, Crawfordville, GA; one aunt, Ethelene Fulton, Penfield, GA; 20 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends will be held in their hearts.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, July 3, 2021 at the St. Paul Baptist Church in Woodville, Ga. The service will start at 1 pm.
