Mrs. Callie Mattie (Lewis) Hill was born on October 10, 1943, in Woodville, GA, to the late Mr. Eddie Lee Lewis & Corene Lewis. She attended the Greene County school system and graduated from Corry High School in 1961. Where she was the salutatorian.
Callie Mattie Hill met the love of her life, Robert Lee Hill, Sr., in 1960. They were united in holy matrimony in 1963. They then moved to Atlanta and started a new 1ife. The good Lord blessed them with four children: Robert Jr., Christopher, Jarreth, and Nekosha. Callie made a name for herself in Atlanta: she started working with Marist Catholic School. While attending Polo Cosmetology School, where she obtained her cosmetology license. She then went on to operate and on her own beauty salon, where she worked with her dearest friends, Shirley Pitts and Jerry Childs. Callie was a devoted member of the Israel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. William Smith, where she served as the church secretary and on various committees; her passion was the Sick and Shut-in Ministry. Callie developed a strong relationship with her current pastor, Dr. Chris Campbell, who visited her several times during her illness.
Callie loved her family and friends, as well as the Kirkwood Community. She loved to cook, especially on Mondays. She was known for her candied yams and green beans. Callie was a people person who truly loved life and remained calm in every situation. Callie was also very fashion forward and loved getting dressed for church.
In addition to her parents, Callie was preceded in death her sisters, Sarah Kendrick, Cleola Evans, Carrie Mitchell, and Annie Mae Smith & her brothers, Claude Lewis & Eddie Lee Lewis; and her two loving sons, Christopher Hill and Robert Hill, Jr.
Callie's life and legacy will live on in the hearts of her devoted husband, Robert· Hill, Sr.; her son, Jarreth Hill (Tracey); her daughter, Nekosha Hill; her daughters-in law, Angela Hill and Anita Hill; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by loving nieces and nephews.
Services were Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul Baptist Church, Woodville, Ga. with Rev. Dr. Chris Campbell, Eulogist. Services entrusted to Willie A Watkins Funeral Home of Atlanta.
