Ms. Deloris Mitchell Monfort was born on September 8, 1959 in Union Point, Georgia to the late Lucille Curry Mitchell and Willie Lee Mitchell. She departed this life on November 18, 2025, at the age of 66. Preceded in death by her daughter Demetra Monfort, sister Earnesteen Mitchell and brothers Willie Lee Mitchell, and Virgil Lee Mitchell.
βLorisβ accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in union Point, Ga. She was united in marriage to the late Ronald Monfort in 1979.
Deloris was a well-respected and loved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. She will always be remembered for her compassion, love, dedication and her huge heart. She was known for her strong work ethic, dependability, integrity and good manners. Loris left a forever impression on all she met.
She was raised and lived in Union Point, Ga, where she began her career at Stewart Apparel Sewing Plant for many years. She then worked at Walmart for ten years then the Greene County School System for seventeen years as a cafeteria worker, where she retired and continued.
Deloris is survived by a special friend, Arthur Chapman; two daughters: Shotell (Kemoy) Allen and Sherhonda Monfort both of Union Point, Ga.; three sons: Jermontay, Cameron and Domonique. She also leaves behind three granddaughters: Shamiria, Zamaria and Amoy; three grandsons: Nasive, Benjamin and Kemoy all of Union Point, Ga. Her siblings: Cynthia (Leroy) Mitchell of Athens, Ga., Joyce Monfort of Atlanta, Ga., Vincent Mitchell, Reginald Mitchell both of Union Point, Ga.; one aunt: Dollie Ruth Mitchell of Union Point, Ga and a host of other relatives and friends.
