Dennis "Doc" Lawrence was born March 23~ 1960, in Greensboro, GA, to the late John Henry, Sr. and Rozella Lawrence. He was the youngest of eight siblings; three preceded him in death: John Henry Jr., Curtis, and Larry Lawrence.
He departed this earthly life on December 6, 2024, in Atlanta, GA. He attended the Greene County School System in Georgia. He later moved to Atlanta, where he spent most of his adult life. He joined the Second Baptist Church in White Plains, Georgia, and was baptized under the leadership of Pastor Stanley Peaks.
Affectionately known as "Doc," he cherished spending time with his family and friends. Always the life of the party, he enjoyed joking, dancing, and imitating characters from his favorite movies. He particularly loved returning home to go fishing, which offered him a sense of solitude and peace.
He leaves to mourn his passing three daughters: Sharqueta Spencer-Ruff of Sparta, GA; Kenisha Mundy and Charlene Lawrence, both of Atlanta, GA; four sisters, Jo Helen Oliver of East Point GA; Christine Hood of Decatur, GA; Darlene (Eddie) Champion of White Plains, GA; Dianne (Samuel) Porter of Conyers, GA: and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
