Obituary For Emma Jean Mapp

Emma Jean Moss Mapp, affectionately known as “Myne”, was born on February 2,1942, in Greensboro. Georgia, to the late Robert Lee Moss and Hattie Mae Moss. She was the oldest of seven children. Three of her siblings preceded her in death: Brenda, Darrell, and Robert Moss Jr.

Emma received her education in Greene County and graduated from F. T. Corry High School in 1961.

At an early age, Emma gave her life to Christ and became a faithful member of Siloam Missionary Baptist Church. She served as a devoted mother and faithfully worked on the Usher Board and Kitchen Committee for many years.

On July 22, 1966, Emma said "I Do. to the love of her life, Bobby Lee Mapp. Their union was blessed with three children: Bobbie Lynn. who preceded her in death, Manfred, and Orlando.

Emma Jean was a woman who believed in working hard, loving her family, and serving others. She worked at Chipman Union, cleaned houses, and was especially known for her extraordinary gift of cooking.

Her kitchen was a place where love was served alongside every meal. She had a special gift for bringing people together through food, and there always seemed to be enough to feed one more person. Whether cooking for family, friends, or members of the community.

Emma made sure everyone was cared for and no one left hungry.

Emma's greatest joy was her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt. and friend whose love and generosity will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her husband, Bobby Mapp; her loving sons. Manfred (Digna) Mapp and Orlando (Zandra) Mapp: her son in law, Argene Alexander; her beloved grandchildren: Tyya, Travon. Devin, Nia, Jordan, Camryn, Keshawn, Myya, Brianna, and Anthony: and five cherished great grandchildren, Dallas, Solis, Cataleya, Zhaid, and Eloise.

She also leaves to cherish her memory her sisters, Marie (Clayton) Cooper and Darlene Moss; her brother. Scottie Moss: along with a host of nieces. nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbors. and dear friends.

Though Emma Jean Moss Mapp will be deeply missed, the love she gave, the meals she shared. and the memories she created will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved her.

Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and she will be loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.

Service was held Saturday, September 12, 2026 from the Siloam Missionary Baptist Church, Union Point, GA at 1pm. with Rev. Cecil Rozier, Eulogist.
