Eunice Brunson departed this life on Sunday, December 17th, 2023 at Bryan County Health and Rehab in Richmond Hill, Georgia. She was born the oldest of seven children on July 6th, 1937 to the late Thomas and Amanda Melvinia Stewart in Crawfordville, GA.
She moved to Chicago, IL, in 1956 after graduating from Murden High School. Eunice was united in holy matrimony to Wilbert Brunson in 1959. She completed Peter’s Business School and then worked at a publishing company. She later worked at 1st National Bank of Chicago for 20 years as a computer operator until she retired. Eunice and Wilbert moved to Pooler, GA in 2012 to be in a warmer and milder climate.
Eunice was always “strong in spirit” and a very active “servant of God”. She faithfully served as a deaconess for many years in Chicago, IL and Savannah, GA. Intrigued by the beauty of plants and flowers, she grew many of them in her garden and her home.
Eunice was preceded in death by 3 siblings: Thomas Stewart, Bernice Stewart and Clifford Stewart. She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband of 65 years, Wilbert Brunson; one daughter, Lamonda Brunson Kidd of Raleigh, NC; one son, Ryan Brunson (Jeffrey) of Westbury, NY; two sisters, Merolyn McGadney (Clifford) of Mobile, AL, and Levoin Vaughn (Rudolph) of Savannah, GA; one brother, Harold Stewart (True) of Hampton, GA; five nieces, Charmel Gaulden, Chacana Gaulden, LaSheena Bentley (Patrick), Jasmine Stewart, Janay Stewart; one nephew, Rudolph Vaughn III; two great-nieces, Amari Lucas and Marlene Everhart; two great-nephews, Alexander Everhart and Patrick Bentley, Jr; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends who loved her dearly.

Brunson Family, I will continue to lift you all in prayer. Mrs. Brunson had the most calm about her. Her smile was uplifting and a joy to me. She was radiant and loving. I pray your memories bring you more smiles and joy than sadness. Thank you Lamonda and Ryan for sharing your mom (parents) with me. Much love n care!!
Sincerely,
