Obituary For Fannie Elaine Smith

Fannie Elaine Greene Smith was born to the late Johnnie and Eutha Greene on October 27, 1934 in Greensboro, Georgia. She was the seventh child born of this union. She departed this earthly life on June 10, 2026 at the age of 91.

Fannie accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Moore's Chapel Baptist Church. After leaving Greensboro, Georgia, she moved to Atlanta, Georgia. She met and entered into Holy Matrimony with Mr. William Smith. To this union, two sons were born - William and David. She graduated from Blayton School of Accounting, located in Atlanta, GA, in 1955. After graduation, she worked as a nursing assistant, until her retirement in 1994.

She was preceded in death by her husband (William), son (William), parents Johnny and Eutha Greene), sisters (Johnnie M. Martin, Eutha (Pollie) Rankin, Clara N. Lawrence, Elease Greene, Eloise Binion and Mary Calloway), and brothers (Sidney Greene, James Greene, and John Moses Greene). She leaves to cherish her memory, son (David) of Atlanta, GA, sisters (Patricia A. Mapp, of Sparta, GA and Doris L. Greene, of Greensboro, GA), sister-in-law (Mrs. John M. (Gennie) Greene) of Greensboro, GA, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives, in addition to her longtime caregivers, Roy and Patricia Binion.

Funeral service was held Saturday, June 13, 2026 from the Watts Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00 pm with Reverend Gerald Mapp, officiating.
