Obituary For Gary Brinkley

Mr. Gary Lee Brinkley was born on the 22nd of February 1942 in Taliaferro County, Georgia to Mamie Lee Brinkley and Robert Jones.

He was preceded in death by his mother Mrs. Mamie L. Brinkley Martin and Minister Robert Jones, three siblings: brother Robert Lee Brinkley; sisters Diane Martin and Mattie Martin Champion.

Gary moved to Atlanta in the 60’s and worked in asphalt and paving until his health failed. He met his love, Ms. Lizzie Cook and they were together 42 ½ years until her passing in 2017.

He had become disabled and was residing at Glenwood Nursing Facility in Decatur.

On May 25th, 2021 all his pain and suffering ended, he’s now in perfect health. God is his doctor.

He leaves to cherish his memories three kids, reared in the home, who affectionately call him Dad and whom he dearly loved: Gregory, Yolanda and Archie; sisters: Wynette Martin (Calvin) and Gladys Tripp of Greensboro, Ga., Eunice martin of Siloam, Ga.; brother-in-law Armor Champion of White Plains, Ga., the grandkids he adored; special nieces Charlene and Eumika; a special nephew Jermaine. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be Saturday 1pm at New Springfield Baptist Church, Siloam Ga.
