Obituary For Inez Foster Thornton

Inez Foster Thornton was born on September 6, 1938 to the late Mr. Sidney Foster and Inez Foster. She was preceded in death by her child: Jackie Thornton; eight brothers: L. C. Foster, J.C. Foster, R. C. Foster, Willie Foster, Jimmie Foster, Sydney Foster, Jr., Johnnie (Floyd) Foster and Donald Foster; two sisters: Grace Terrell and Margaret Foster.

She received her education at F. T. Corry School System. She retired from the Georgia World Congress Center. Inez loved to cook, ride her exercise bike and plant flowers, especially roses.

She leaves to cherish her memory her late husband, James T. Thornton; her children Johnny Thornton, and Denise Ford. She also leaves behind two sisters Shirley Roberson and Vivian Foster; one brother R.J. Foster; grandchildren: Treco, Brittany, & Presious and a great grandson Ladainian; a host of other relatives and friends, a special cousin Nell.

Inez’s laughter, kindness and unwavering support will be profoundly missed by her family and friends.

Service will be held Saturday, January 31, 2026 from the New Springfield Baptist Church, Siloam, GA. at 1pm with Rev. L. Hall, Eulogist.
