James "Cadillac" Saunders was born on August 17, 1958, to the late James E. Saunders Sr. and Hattie K. Saunders in Miami, Florida.
A proud graduate of Miami-Dade High School, James developed a lifelong passion for Cadillacs, a love that earned him the beloved nickname “Cadillac.” Throughout his life, he worked tirelessly in various industries, including pulpwood and construction, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication.
During his visits to Greensboro, Georgia, James met Minnie Smith, the love of his life and best friend. They shared a deep and lasting bond for more than 40 years until her passing. While James and Minnie did not have children together, he embraced Minnie's children, Larry (Cheronne) and Takenya (Mack), as his own, and they were a constant source of love and pride for him.
James had a passion for cooking, traveling, and most of all, spending time with his family. His love for those closest to him was boundless, and he always put his loved ones first.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Hattie Saunders, as well as his brother Christopher “Skeet” Saunders and his sister Lisa “Dede” Saunders.
James is survived by his brothers, Daryl Saunders and Robin Saunders (Vonda); his "favorite niece," Trameka West (Antron); his nephews, Cedric Saunders (Kenyetta), Trivon Saunders (Nancy), and Maurice Saunders (Samantha); along with a host of nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends who loved him dearly.
James “Cadillac” Saunders will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
Rest in peace, Cadillac. You are forever in our hearts.
