Obituary For Jerry Renord Sanders, Sr.

Jerry Renord Sanders, Sr., was born on January 8, 1958 to Dennis and Mary Sanders at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Ga. Jerry transitioned to be with the Lord on October 15, 2025 at Piedmont Hospital in Athens, Ga.

At an early age, Jerry joined the Greater Level Hill Baptist Church under the direction of Reverend Johnson.

Jerry was a graduate of Taliaferro County High School. He worked many jobs like Seaboard Farms and Goldkist Poultry but his first love was being a licensed over the road truck driver for over thirty years.

Jerry was a trained two-time CPR certified life guard. He was trained in martial arts. He was also a Certified Heavy Equipment Operator and was a Cub Scout Master in his community.

Jerry was proceeded in death by both parents Dennis and Mary Sanders, one son Jerry Jr. of Athens, Ga., two sisters: Shirley Thomas of Detroit, Mi. and Sharron Sanders of Crawfordville, Ga.; three brothers Larry Evans of Elberton, Ga., Dennis Sanders III of Crawfordville, Ga. and Spencer Sanders of Hinesville, Ga.

Jerry leaves to cherish his life: two daughters: Chuchundra and Kimberly Sanders of Athens, Ga.; two grandchildren Danielle and Dorian Sanders of Athens, Ga.; the mother of his three children Patricia Stephens of Athens, Ga.; one brother Anthony Sanders of Crawfordville, Ga. Two aunts Frankie Jackson of Union Point, Ga and Helen Reed of Atlanta, Ga.; a Special friend in Diane McIntyre of Athens, Ga. And his emotional support animal “Minnie”. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
