Jimmie Wayne Mize, 82, of Greensboro, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his home on November 27, 2025. Born on July 18, 1943, in Greensboro to Walter and Hazel Mize, Jimmie lived a life rooted in faith, family, and the simple joys of nature.
A 1961 graduate of Greensboro High School, Jimmie married the love of his life, Diane Parker, on February 14, 1964. Together, they built a life marked by devotion, hard work, and a deep commitment to their family.
Jimmie was known for his quiet strength and his lifelong appreciation for the outdoors. He found joy in gardening, hunting, fishing, and caring for the animals on his farm. Whether tending to his land or spending time with his family, he lived each day with gratitude and purpose. His faith was the foundation of his life, and he cherished the blessings God gave him.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Hazel Mize, and his sister, Linda Dye.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Diane Mize; his two sons, Joey Mize and Jim Mize; his three grandchildren, J.W. Mize, Jeremy Mize, and Heather Mize; and his two great-granddaughters, Jozie Mize and Jorjia Mize. His love and devotion continue through each of them.
A memorial service to honor Jimmie’s life will be held on December 6, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church in Union Point, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Bethel Baptist Church.
Jimmie will be deeply missed, and his memory will remain a blessing to all who knew and loved him.
