Josephine Redd Evans gained her heavenly wings on July 25, 2022. She passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Josephine was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Ruth Redd, brother, Eddie L. Redd, and sister, Dianne Redd.
Josephine Estella Redd Evans was born on March 18, 1957 in Greensboro, Georgia. She was a 1975 graduate of Greene County High School. Josephine was a loving mother, sister, and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, and cooking. Josephine accepted Christ as her personal savior and joined the Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Herman Clark.
She leaves her devoted children to cherish her memories: daughter, Kimberly Redd (Greensboro, Ga); sons, Darrell (Tanikka) Evans, Jr., Charleston, South Carolina, Orlando Redd (Greensboro, Ga); her grandchildren K’niya Young, Kaleb King, Brelyn Evans, Morgan Nix, Darrell Evans, III, Tralandis Redd, and Orlando T. Redd; her loving siblings Annette Redd, Carolyn (Alfonzo)Thomas, Jessie D. Redd, Jerome (Emma Jean) Redd, Dennis Redd, and Emerson (Anthea) Redd; her uncle, Willie B. Redd, and her aunt Ruby Chaffin, Leola Wright, and Nettie Wright; special cousins, Pauline Woodruff, JoAnn Terrell Cummings, Lucy Porter, Louise Nesbitt and Eva Hawes, and close friends Susie Crutchfield and Mary Jane Curry. A special thank you goes out to the Nesbitt family for all your love and support. You are always there!
