Juanita Saggus Stewart was born to the late Oscar Saggus and Mahulda Gresham Saggus-Drummond. Juanita was welcomed int the Lord’s arms on September 18, 2020. In addition to her parents, her husband, William “Bill” Stewart and one sibling David Saggus preceded her in death she joined St. Paul Baptist Church in Woodville at an early age. She graduated from Greensboro high School in 1955. Juanita was a phenomenal basketball player in high school. Juanita returned to St. Paul Baptist Church in 2006, under Pastor Willie Chester, Jr., where she served as a Deaconess until her transition.
Juanita was united in holy matrimony to the late William “Bill” Stewart on june5, 1971. During their marriage their served as Foster parents to 125+ children. Juanita’s work career began in Atlanta, Georgia, however, she desired to move to Tucson, Arizona. Juanita would spend the next 30+ years working for the Pima County Juvenile Court System. Juanita and Bill enjoyed celebrating Juneteenth in Arizona and from this celebration, they started Boss hog Barbecue, where thousands of people were able to enjoy their delicious food. They enjoyed traveling in their RV where many fishing and boating adventures left last memories to tell family and friends.
Juanita, first a humbled and faithful servant to her Lord and Savior, was a great mentor, istener, encourager, open hearted and an advocate for those who lost their was.
Juanita was a devoted sister to Lloyd Saggus, Edd Oscar (Jeanette) Saggus and Iona (Kenneth) Briscoe and numerous sister and brother in laws. Juanita, a mother figure to all whom she crossed paths. She especially loves Michael (Wanda) lee, Tasha Ford, Dunesia Land, Dominic Land and Gloria Witherspoon. She was a devoted aunt to a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
