Kailynne Marquecia Derricot graced us all with her presence on May 15, 1998. She was born in Augusta, Georgia to her loving parents Shirley Ann Derricot and Lamonte Marquez Thomas. Kailynne was a special, loving, chubby, sweet baby earlier on which earned her the affectionate nickname "sweet ma." She carried that nickname throughout her life along with picking up many others along the way from family & friends including Kate Ma, Sugar mama, Sweet Dog, Mama, & most recently "Kay." Kailynne's faith in God was alive in her early in life & she carried that faith until she took her last breath on August 7, 2022.
Kailynne grew up in many different places in her life, which allowed her to attend different schools & meet a lot of different people. She attended schools in Warrenton, Georgia, Washington, Georgia, & Elberton, Georgia, just to name a few. Still, most of her life was spent growing up & attending school in Crawfordville, Georgia where she graduated Valedictorian of her class. This was an accomplishment she was definitely proud of, but the actual highlight of that graduation weekend was giving birth to her beautiful baby girl Kailyee.
Kailynne started off college first attending Savannah State University & then transferred to Augusta State University to be closer to her daughter. She graduated from Augusta State with her BBA in Accounting in May 2020. After returning home from college, she continued to work as a server before landing her career path as an Accountant at Rollins, INC. in April 2022.
Kailynne loved spending time with family & friends there was never a dull moment with her. She was known as the "LIFE OF THE PARTY" whether there were 100 gathered or 5, she made sure everyone around her was having an enjoyable time. She had the most infectious laugh & you would most often find her laughing at something. She loved to travel. eat out, go out, & shop. She was the brightest light in so many lives & she will be truly missed.
Our beloved Kailynne leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Kailyee Ma'Layah Barnhart; her parents Shirley Ann Derricot and Lamonte Marquez Thomas; her brothers, Stantavius "Two Man/Stan" Derricot and Seneca "Papi" Derricot, her Grandmothers Idonia "Ree" Derricot & Martha Helen Thomas; Becky Barnhart whom she referred to as her second mom; her special cousins Datavis "Tay" Evans, Toransio "Dude" Curry, and Monique "Boo" Stovall; a special friend Malik Barnhart, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family, & friends.
