Larry Donnell Hutchinson, Sr. was the youngest of his sibling, born on November 6, 1958 in Greensboro, Georgia to the late Eugene T. Hutchinson and Fannie K. Hutchinson.
At a young age he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at Antioch Baptist Church. He was a faithful church member until his health started failing. Larry was Ordained as a Deacon under the late Rev. Dr. Charles Reeves, Sr., in 2011, where he enjoyed working with the Youth Department, Food Committee, Membership Training Committee, and as Secretary of the Deacon Board.
Larry grew up in the time of segregation where he attended ET. Corry Elementary School, and he graduated from high school at Greene County High School in 1977. He left Greensboro, Georgia after high school to attend Atlanta Technical College where he received an Associate Degree in Body Repair and Mechanics. He spent many of his early years as a mechanic, working at Frito Lays in Atlanta, Georgia. In 1981, Larry moved back to Greensboro, Georgia where he, along with his uncles and late grandfather Calvin Perkins, Sr. built his home.
Larry met the love of his life, Elna A. Baugh, in 1984. The two were united in Holy Matrimony on July 5, 1992. To this union three children were born, and from a previous marriage three children were born.
Larry devoted his life to family, working on cars, and being a master at grilling and cooking for the Greene County Athletic Booster Club, the Smith Family Reunion, Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, and the Class of GCHS 1977, which was his passion. In 2012, by unanimous vote, Larry won the Hutchinson' Family Master Grill Cook-off. Larry was faithful and dedicated to the church and his job, he never missed a day from work. He was employed with the Greene County School System for 38 years and 4 months. He retired from the Greene County School System in January 2021. Larry was well known by many school districts for assisting their drivers with any mechanical problems. He won first place for the bus technicians in the State of Georgia in 2019. Larry was a very well-respected driver and bus technician, where he had travelled across the state with many of the school programs. Larry was affectionally known as the driver for Athletic Director Coach Mckithen and GCHS elite Boys Varsity Basketball Teams who won many State Championship games. Larry was not only known as being the Lead Technician at the Greene County Bus Shop, but he also loved working on cars as a hobby and body painting cars when he could find the spare time. Larry's traveling throughout the State and many other places allowed him to meet many new friends. Larry was also known for growing his own garden, planting fruit trees, and raising laying chickens.
On Saturday, March 6, 2021, after a brief battle with colon cancer, the Lord called Larry home and he answered his call.
