Leroy J. Wright was born December 29, 1939 to the late Mr. Jessie Gus Wright and Nellie Mathis-Wright in Greene County, Georgia. Leroy was one of fourteen children and grew up in Greensboro, Georgia. He accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at an early age. Siblings preceding him in death are: Mary Rachell, Ruby Rachell, Ruth Redd, Fred Wright, Agnes Hurt, Minnie Mae Hall, Floyd Wright, Kate Lawrence, and Henderson Wright.
Leroy was married to Mrs. Geneva Ellis Wright and to this union three children were born.
Leroy was a loving Father, Grandfather, Uncle, and Brother. Leroy grew up in the family business of logging and he had a passion for being in the woods. He enjoyed every moment of his work. He had a vision to be an entrepreneur, so he created Leroy Wright’s Logging. He spent his life growing the business. Even after he was physically unable to do the work himself, he continued to get up every morning and head out with the crew, as the overseer. Just back in January, at 81 years of age, he was still driving out to the jobsite. He watched and coached his son daily so that he would know exactly how to continue the legacy, the Leroy Wright’s way.
