Obituary For Lloyd Saggus

Lloyd Saggus was born on March 3, 1938, to the late Oscar Saggus and Mahulda Gresham Saggus-Drummond. Lloyd was welcomed into the Lord’s arms on August 22, 2025. In addition to his parents, two siblings preceded him in death: David Saggus and Juanita Stewart.

Lloyd was married to Agnes Dunn and from this union, five children were born: Brenda Ellis, Sandra (the late-Devaughn) White, Melissa (Treamelle) Gates, and Rico Saggus. His son, Tony Saggus preceded him in death.

At an early age, Lloyd joined St. Paul Baptist Church. Lloyd was a businessman; he owned and operated several service stations in and around Atlanta for years and was known as “Doc” amongst peers. As a mechanic, he loved to share knowledge with others and gave young men an opportunity to learn the business. He enjoyed playing checkers, card games, watching baseball, and discussing current world affairs.

Lloyd also leaves his brother, Edd Oscar (Jeanette) Saggus and sister, Iona (Kenneth) Briscoe; eight grandchildren (one preceded in death), six great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, a special friend and caretaker, Darryl Moore; a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.
