Mrs. Lois “Morning Star” Reid was born on March 25, 1931 to the parentage of the late Mr. John Edwards and Mrs. Lula Winder Edwards. She was preceded in death by her husband. She received her education and moved to Atlanta, Georgia where she met Noel Thomas Reid, Sr. and they were married on November 28, 1947. They later moved to New York. While in New York she was a School Administrative and housewife. Mrs. Reid was a proud and loving wife and mother of three beautiful children. Her sons: Noel Reid, Jr. and Marvin Reid both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sister and brothers. She is survived by a beautiful daughter: Pamela Reid.
“Phoebe” as she was affectionately called by her husband and Noel family members, was a cook, cleaner counselor and if you were out of order, you were threatened with the serious belt. She worked in the New York Public School System until she retired in 1992. Once retired both she and her husband moved to Greensboro, Georgia.
“Phoebe” loved housekeeping, gardening and the whole house is adorned in the Royal Color of purple. “Phoebe” has left us so many precious memories. We thank God for giving her a warm and loving spirit.
Cherishing these memories are her devoted daughter, Ms. Pamela Reid; her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Jennifer Reid; her four grandsons: Ian Reid and Jules Reid of Brooklyn, New York, Brandon Reid of Atlanta, Ga. and Malik Reid of Snellville, Ga.; her great granddaughter Isabella Reid; her two great-grandsons: Cairo Reid of Brooklyn New York and Brayden Reid of Atlanta, Georgia. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family members and friends.
