Obituary For Marie Tyson Blake
Mother, Marie (Tyson) Blake, Age 81 passed away Sunday, February 19th, 2023. Born April 15, 1941 in Savannah Ga. to Sam Tyson and Phoebe Owens. She joined Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and served faithfully as a member. She loved God's praises and always kept a song in her heart. She attended the Wilkes County school system. She started working at an early age, and had her own land and house built before age 25. She loved working outdoors, in the kitchen, but her biggest love was helping others. Marie worked at Clarke County School Systems for over 25 years. She was married to David Blake. She is preceded in death by her parents Sam Tyson and Phoebe Owens, son: David Earl Blake, love of her life: William Golden, brothers: Joseph Tyson, Tony Tyson, Kent P. Harrison and Enoch Tyson: grandson Leon K. Smalls; granddaughter Janithia Latir Mattox.
She was a mother and grandmother!
She was a fighter, a hard worker! She did not quit.
She had talent! She could sing!
She cooked the world's best oatmeal!
She took good care of her mother and many children!
She had humour and such a beautiful smile!
Those who knew her loved her!
May Mom resting peace with the Lord and rise again soon!

She is survived by her beloved children: Leon Tyson of Rayle, Ga., Kenneth E. Blake of Rayle, Ga., Rashawn (Isha) Blake of Statham, Ga., Lashawn (Rashay) Blake of Jefferson, Ga., adopted son: Michael Lilly. Brothers: Sam (Pearl) Tyson of Savannah, Ga., John (Essie) Tyson, Lee M. (Irene) Tyson, Sisters: Sheila (Anthony) Felix, Lillie (Vernon) Louis, Jackie (Stanford) Douglas, Ava (Kelvin) Mason, Pam (Malcolm) Kornegay, fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
