Marietta Moses was born December 30, 1940. To the late Magnolia & Andrew Moses in Stephens, Georgia. She transitioned to be with the Lord early Saturday morning October 26, 2024. Marietta was preceded in death by her son Willie Melton Moses; a grandson Minister Antonio “Pootie” Jewell; three brothers Ernes, Nathaniel and Willie and a sister Dorothy and a longtime companion Walter.
She dedicated her life to Christ and was baptized at an early age at Thankful Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. C. P. Wright.
Marietta attended the Oglethorpe County Schools. She worked in Athens, Ga. until she moved to Springfield, Ma. at the age of 22. She worked at Finest Warehouse until she retired.
Marietta loved people and people loved her. She was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. There was never a dull moment with her. She lived life to the fullest. There were times she wept, laughed, mourned and times she danced (she enjoyed dancing). Her vibrant spirit brought warmth and happiness to everyone around.
Marietta leaves to cherish her love and precious memories a devoted daughter: Gida McWhorter, two sons: James Moses and Timothy (Michelle) Moses; a grandson that was raised in the home Taveon Crump; a sister Emma (James) Smith; a goddaughter: Sharon Smith; an aunt: Ethel Burgess; a sister-in-law: Janet Walter, 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Service were held Saturday, November 9, 2024 from the Thankful Baptist Church 1218 Union Point Rd, Stephens, GA 30667 at 12pm.
