Mrs. Martha Lee Perkins was born on June 17, 1952. Martha was the beloved daughter of the late Mr, Willie E. Jernigan and Mrs. Eva Mae Jernigan.
Martha began her spiritual journey at a young age, joining the Antioch Baptist Church, where her faith in God grew. On February 20, 1980, she married Willie Perkins Sr., blending their families and created a union of togetherness. Throughout their years together, they shared a nurturing and loving bond each day.
On Saturday, November 15, 2025, Martha went home to be with the Lord.
Martha's legacy and love extends to her children and God daughter: Velisa Mundy, Wendy (Steven) Smith, Gwendolyn Jones, Earl Armour, Edwin Armour, Willie Perkins Jr., Corey Perkins, and Latoya Hutchinson. She was preceded in death by her son, Eddie (Toney) Armour, and step-daughter, Sharon Wright, and brothers: Lonnie Lawrence, Erwin Jernigan, and Frank Jernigan.
She leaves behind her faithful and committed husband, Willie Perkins Sr., three brothers: David Jernigan, Joe B. Jernigan, and Sammy Jernigan and three sisters: Florida Kelly, Nancy Camp, and Daisy Farley. Martha was a loving grandmother to 22 grandchildren and 24 beautiful great-grandchildren. She also cherished a host of nieces and nephews, each of whom will miss her dearly.
Martha was known for her beautiful smile and her warm, welcoming heart. Her compassion extended to all, always offering a helping hand and a listening ear. Her cooking, celebrated by all, was not just about nourishment but a reflection of her love for family and friends. She always stood by her family, offering unwavering support.
As we remember the life of this wonderful woman, let us hold dear the memories of her laughter, strength, and endless love.
In Loving Memory, May She Rest in Peace ..
