Mary Nell Evans was born August 12, 1949 to the late Charlie and Lillie Mae Evans. She departed this earthly life, December 4, 2024 surrounded by her family. Mary was the 9th of 12 children and the baby girl of the family. Mary joined New Springfield Baptist Church at an early age. Mary was a member of the New Springfield Motherboard.
Mary loved spreading the love of God and her own love with everyone she met. She was always willing to help and care for anyone. She was the source of life and wisdom. Her passion was a clean yard, beautiful flowers, baking, and spending time with her grand and great grandchildren. Mary’s sweet spirt will be missed in the community and in the lives of her family.
She was preceded in death by her loving son James Ronald; two sisters: Charlie Mae Terrell and Dora Bell Johnson and eight brothers: Johnny, George, Seymore, MacArthur, Micheal, Jessie, Paul, and Roosevelt Evans.
She leaves to cherish her sweet memories her beloved children, her sons: Robert Evans(Catherine) of Siloam and Freddie Evans(Tia) of Greensboro; two daughters: Shirley Evans of Greensboro and Tameka Wingfield(Ravon) of Siloam; one daughter-in-law Renee Evans of Greensboro. She also leaves her grandchildren: Yoshalyn (Henry), Tahj, Shaquitta, Travon, Arielle, Jonathan, Chandler (Arnoldo), Shamiracle, Ashton and Brockton; her great-grands: San Carlo, India, Kynlee, Travon, Asia, Azaria, Ja’vian, Aubrey, Jace, Reina, and Nyomi; one brother; Anderson Evans; three sisters-in-law: Lovie B, Martha, and Lucille and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Service: Sunday December 8, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. from New Springfield Baptist Church, Siloam with Rev. Roi Johnson, Officiating.
