Obituary For Michael W. Edwards

Michael Rodell Edwards was born on April 16, 1961 to the late Martha Edwards and Robert Edwards in Crawfordville, Georgia. He received his formal education at Taliaferro County High School (Class of 1980) in Crawfordville, Georgia. At an early age, Michael accepted Christ and united with Friendship CME Church in Raytown, Georgia in 1979, where he began his spiritual journey.

Throughout his life, Michael was known as a hardworking man, he was employed by Chipman Union, Crawfordville Dairy Farm, BP gas station and with various other employers oner the years. He earned respect for his dedication and strong work ethic. Outside of work, Michael found joy in life’s simple pleasures such as working on cars, painting, cooking on the grill, gardening, spending time with family and friends.

Monday night, December 15, 2025, Michael peacefully transitioned from this life into eternal rest.

Michaels leaves to cherish his precious memories: his father Robert Edwards, Sr.; a daughter Jennifer Hudson, a son Jeremy Derrico; four brothers Fredric (Rose), Willie, Robert, Jr. and Sammie (Rita); seven grandchildren, one great grand, other relatives and dear friends.

Michael will be remembered for his quiet strength, worm spirit and unwavering love for his family. His presence will live on in the many lives he touched.
