Obituary For Natarsha "Pockey" Strother
Natasha Latrice “Pokey” Strother was born on November 30, 1981, to Clarence Strother and Cheryl Smith in Augusta, Georgia. She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at an early age at New Springfield Baptist Church, Siloam, Georgia.
Natasha graduated from GTCHS in 2001. During her junior year of high school, she began working at Greene County Chamber of Commerce as the Membership Director until 2008. In 2022 she began serving as the Executive Assistant Bookkeeper at Boys and Girls Club of Athens & Winder. She was also the owner of Strother Inc. beginning September 2025 until her health began to decline. Natasha loved fashion, modeling, arts and crafts.
In the early evening hours of August 16, 2026, Natasha Latrice “Pokey” Strother entered an evening of joy. Her earthly life was completed and her eternal life began. She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Strother.
She leaves to cherish her memories three children: Chaquavior (Tyreek) Dunn, Ja’Nyla Woodruff and Za’Kiah Woodruff. One granddaughter that she loved dearly, Harley Lumpkin. Her beloved parents Cheryl (David) Smith. Siblings: Alfonzo Mitchell, Sherral (Michael) Ellison, Keta Strother, Tikiessa (Dennis) Miller. Seven nieces and nephews and one great nephew. Aunts and Uncles: Dora Mosley, Jeannie (Freddie) Ransome, William (Belinda) Mosley, Louis Mosley, Dianne Reid, Burnestine Strother, Lorenzo (Agnes) Strother, Beatrice Wilson, Benjamin Kitchens, Sparta Ga, Mary Angela Wilson, Sparta Ga, Eurea Kitchens, Forth Hill, SC, Madie Kitchens, Augusta Ga, Valerie Warren, Long Island NY. Godmother, Jacquelyn Sigman. Godfather, Johnny Roger Kilpatrick Sr.
A special cousin, Amonti Mitchell. Special friends: Angel Robbins, Larry Hutchinson and Denie Johnson. A host of family and friends.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, August 22. 2026 from the Rock Baptist Church in White Plains, GA at 1pm.

Natasha and I had known each other for a few short years, but we grew to be good friends quickly. I'll miss our long talks and her sense of humor. Praying that she's finally resting peacefully in the presence of God. My condolences to the family. Praying for your peace and strength during this difficult time.
