Talmadge Burton (Burt) Hensley died June 28, 2023 at home. Burt was born at home in the Macadonla Community of Greene County, GA to Talmadge C. Hensley and Jennie Brock. Burt attended school at Woodville, GA until he began the 6th grade at Union Point graduating in 1959, He enrolled at the University of Georgia In 1959 and graduated In 1964 with a BSA in agriculture. He married Charlene Baldwin in 1964. After her graduation from the University of Georgia Veterinary School, they bought his father's dairy. They bred and milked a registered herd of Jersey cows. After no longer dairying, Burt earned a license as a plumber and at electrician and started his own business until health made him retire in 2021. He was president of the Greene County DHIA and at one time the Greene County Livestock Association. He began going to Bethesda Baptist Church as a child in 1945, was baptized there and later became a deacon. He served as chairman a few years. He was also the choir director.
He was preceded in death by his parents T.C. and Jennie Hensley and his sister Judy Hensley Burden Gheesling. He is survived by his wife Charlene Baldwin Hensley, children Wade Burton Hensley (Kathrine), Phyllis Lanell Hensley Savage (Chris), Samuel (Sam) Charles Hensley (Jeannie) and Duane Alton Hensley (Olga); eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and many relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be July 15, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the Bethesda Baptist Cemetery, Union Point, GA.
Fellowship to follow at the Bethesda Fellowship Hall.

Burt was how shall I post this he was simply one and million he was always joking with me always has a way of keeping me guessing he was is and always will be my best friend fly high I saw you everyday and I was blessed rest easy my sweet friend
Mr. Burt and I sang together. I really miss his deep voice but now he is si ging with the angels. One of my favorites were Windows Of Home by Gold City
