Obituary For Willie Clarence Smith, Jr.

Mr. Willie Clarence Smith Jr. was born on June 22, 1966, to Willie Clarence Smith, Sr. and the late Vernell Peak-Smith of Greensboro, Georgia.

Willie was educated within the Greene County School System. He joined Springfield Baptist Church of Greensboro, Georgia at an early age. Later he moved to Atlanta Georgia where he worked for the Dekalb Sanitation for many years. Willie loved detailing and working on cars. He also loved sports. His favorite team was the Pittsburgh Steelers. He loved fishing, cooking, basketball and of course showing off his cooking and loved to eat.

Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his mother Vernell Peak - Smith, his son, both paternal and maternal grandparents.

He leaves to cherish his father, Mr. Willie Clarence (Gwen) Smith Sr., his special friend Julia Chatman and family, His children: Antonio Yarbrough, Tierra Smith, Ariana and Briana Folks. Two grandchildren, Jansen Willis and Sevyn Cross. Ten siblings: Lisa (Tyrus) Gresham, Dwayne Wright, Marie (Eric) Cochran, Tommy (Anitha) Smith, Corey (Jackie) Smith, Patrick Smith, Tiffany Ford, Freida Smit, Michael Smith, Joshua Smith and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Services were Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. from Historic Springfield Baptist Church, Greensboro with Rev. Tracy Lawrence, Eulogist.
