Mr. Willie Hugh Lunceford was born on January 21, 1949, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Ed Oscar and Gertrude Lunceford. He was also preceded in death by his brothers: Gaddis Lunceford, Andrew Lunceford, Lee Anderson Lunceford, and Richard Warren.
At an early age, Willie accepted Christ and joined Randolph Baptist Church, where he was an active member of the male chorus. He proudly served his country in the United States Army for three years, earning the National Defense Service Medal in recognition of his honorable service.
On October 14, 2025, the angels of the Lord gently carried Willie to his eternal home.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory six children: Erika Lunceford, Michelle Lunceford, Monique Lunceford, Lisa (Larry) Wyatt, David McCommons, and Travis Bolden; fourteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two devoted sisters, Easter Menafee and Annie Randolph; three brothers, Eddie (Marilyn) Lunceford, Tommy Lunceford, and Marcell Lunceford; three sisters-in-law: Isabelle Lunceford, Brenda Lunceford & Mattie Warren; a special friend, Glenda Starr; and best friends, Larry Alexander and William Jones. He is also remembered with love by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Willie will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, laughter, and faith will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
