On Tuesday, January 14, 2025, God called his son Willie James Manago home at the tender age of 79 and he happily accepted.
Willie James Manago was born on October 21,1945 in Taliaferro County. Crawfordville, Georgia to the late Europe Manago Sr. and Varnita Rhodes Manago. He was the fourth of nine children.
At an early age, Willie James joined the Brown Chapel Church where he remained a member until he was called home to be with the Lord.
He was educated in the Taliaferro County School System.
In his early years he worked with his father and brothers in the Pulpwood business. He was skilled in Auto Mechanics, Carpentry and Upholstery. He worked at Dixie Upholstery where he mastered his upholstery skills that led him to starting his own business, Manago’s Upholstery. Willie James had many skills, if it could be done, he could do it.
Willie James loved life and never met a stranger. He was always saying something to make you laugh. He loved playing checkers and talking trash while playing. One of his favorite sayings was "I don't talk much but I talk all the time."
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by one son: Samuel Lewis Barnhart, one sister: Juanita Manago; two brothers: Europe Golden Howard and Europe Manago, Jr.
Willie James leaves cherished memories to one daughter: Belinda Howard of Atlanta, Georgia; four sons: Randy Bernard Barnhart of Greensboro, Georgia: Kenneth Bernard and Kevin Gerard Manago both of Athens, Georgia and Sedric Cade (Marina)of Suitland, Maryland, 14 grandchildren a1td 17 great- grandchildren: three sisters: Helen Polite (Alvin) of Winder, Georgia, Shirley Handy (Tommy) of Athens, Georgia, and Gloria M. Heard of Ellenwood, Georgia; two brothers: Curtis Manago of Crawfordville, Georgia and Franklin D. Manago (Jennie) of Athens, Georgia; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Service: Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. from Crawfordville Holiness Church with Rev. Frances Harper, Eulogist.
It is with our deepest sympathy for the end of Willie James' life on this earth for he transitioned to a better home on high. Willie James always had a joyful attitude that he didn't mind sharing with others. He had a contagious laughter that added a brightness to a gloomy day.
