Andrea Lynise Bryrd, the only daughter of Charlotte Bryd Kinney and Wesley Dwight Williams, was born on July 25, 1978, in Birmingham, Alabama.
At an early age with the direction of her mother and grandmothers, Rosa Lee Williams and Ms. Phelia Byrd, she professed her life to Christ. Her faith was the quiet strength behind everything she did and peacefully carried her through life.
Her early education was at Demby High School in Detroit, Michigan. However, she furthered her studies at Virginia College in Birmingham, Alabama.
Andrea’s professional career included employment with numerous prestigious companies in Alabama and Michigan. But, her outstanding career, where she was able to reach her peak in service was in Gadsden, Alabama. It was in Gadsden as an attendant in a group home setting where she poured her whole heart into the service of helping others and caring for those who couldn’t help themselves. Caring for people was simply her desire and never a job or work, it was purely her nature. Under the direction of her friend, Sharon Kirkland, her excellence was undeniable, her service unforgettable and the love and care she gave was immeasurable. Her focus was always on the big picture which benefited recipients in Birmingham, Detroit and Gadsden.
Andrea had some major passions in her life; the love of God, family and friend was at the top of the list. Once monthly, she and her mom would have a day at the Nail Spa and she, of course, would have her hair styled by Ms. Sherry Hall. Also, she had favorite shows and shared this joy with her brother, Richard. Whenever there was a pay-per-view event televised she was on it, in addition to her love for Monday Night Raw, Friday Night Smackdown and Saturday Night Main Event. She and her brother would text back and forth, highlighting all the winners and losers, as if they were watching the show sitting next to one another.
Forever cherishing Andrea’s memories are her mother, Charlotte Byrd Kinney; father, Wesley Dwight Williams; stepfather, Gerald Wilson; one brother, Richard Stone, III; four children, Martan’e McCier, Michael McKinstry, Destine McKinstry and Chardaye Williams; five grandchildren, Azila McKinstry, Adonous McKinstry, Adora McKinstry, Azariah Stokes and Azery Stokes; uncles, Johnson, Jr. (Phelica) Byrd, Earnest (Brenda) Byrd, Frank Byrd, Lester Williams, and Ronald Williams; aunts, Marijo Byrd (James) Lowery, Rita Jones and Brenda Allen along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.
