Obituary For Bertha Suttles-Kirkland

Bertha (Suttles) Lane Kirkland transitioned peacefully at
home on December 30, 2025, surrounded by her family. She
was born October 29,1933 in Talladega County, to the late
union of Grover Suttles and Hazel Wills-Suttles. She was a graduate of Talladega County Training School.
She worked at Palm Beach in Talladega, Alabama and later
retired from Parker Alterations in Gadsden, Alabama. Bertha (Suttles) Lane Kirkland received Christ and the gift of the Holy Ghost at a young age, under her pastor Bishop
Perry Thomas at Holy Hill COOLJC. She continued to serve God throughout her life and served as a Church Mother. She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late L.C. Kirkland. She loved spending time with her family. She always enjoyed
going for a ride. She kept a song in her heart. She also had a passion for sewing, flowers, walking, and reading her bible along with praying.

She was preceded in death by her one son, Timothy Mark
Lane; her brothers, Grover Jr., Thomas, Jerry, and J.D.; and
sister, Lorraine Suttles.

She leaves to cherish her memories her children, Sheila
Gaddis of Forrest Park, GA, Earnest Oneal Lane of Eastaboga,
AL, Gwendolyn Crawford of Ellenwood, GA, Aundra Lane of
Eastaboga, AL, Kevin Lane of Eastaboga, AL, and Terrance
B. Lane, Sr. (Karen Lane) of Bynum, AL; 12 grandchildren, 28
great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; sister,
Annette Threat; brother, Lewis Suttles and a host of nieces,
nephews and relatives and friends.

In person signing of the book and viewing will be 12noon - 6pm Friday, January 9, 2026 in the chapel of West Gadsden Funeral Home.

Celebration of life will be 1:00pm Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Perry Thomas Ministries 299 Truss Ferry Rd. Lincoln, Al. 35096
