Obituary For Billy Joe Watson

Mr. Billy Joe Watson, 66, of Gadsden, passed away on September 21, 2021 at Brookwood Medical Center Hospital.

Mr. Billy Joe Watson was born on October 17, 1954 to the late Mr. Morgan & Hazel Watson. He departed this life on September 21, 2021 at Select Specialty Brookwood Hospital in Birmingham, AL.

He is preceded in death by: Jeanette Watson, David Watson, Donald Cooper and Sam Cooper. Billy was educated in the Gadsden City School System and was a graduate of Gadsden High School.

Billy Watson enjoyed life and he loved music. Especially Barry White, “Oh What A Night.” He would speak his mind, laugh, and then would say, “You know me.”

He found and married the love of his life, Sylvia Ann Calloway on November 2, 1974.

He worked faithfully at Flex-N-Gate Motor Company in Detroit, MI. until he retired in 2018.

After he moved back to Gadsden, AL, he became very seriously involved in serving, learning, and being obedient t his loving God Jehovah until his death.

He had many Jehovah Witness friends; Hosea & Millie Braggs, Sandra Paige, Fannie Jiles, Charlotte Brown, Althia Watson, Sarah Richardson, Linda Amye, Wanda Hall, Delores Martin, Latosha & Mickie Seewood, Monique Collins, Brother Ross and so many more. Words cannot just say how many more friends we made in Gadsden, AL. We truly love and appreciate all the love and cards we received. Thank you all so very much. We love you. He leaves to cherish his memories: A loving wife of 46 years, Mrs. Sylvia Ann Calloway Watson; Step daughter, Latosha Seewood; Brothers, Larry (Cynthia) and Rufus (Althia); Sisters, Beatrice Oliver, Evelyn Gwen Ash, Genice Guilford, and Donice (Willie) Sanders; Aunt, Dorothy Watson; Special nephew, Damon Mickle of Detroit, MI. and Junebug; Uncle, Bobby Joe Watson; Special sister-in-law, Betty Joyce Calloway Brooks, Sandra Paige, Fannie Jiles and Millie & Hosea Braggs; Special brother-in-law, Eddie Calloway Jr. (Lisa), John Brooks Sr., Larry McAdams, Curtis Moore; A host of nieces and nephews; Jeanette (Tom) Graham, (Sweet Sugar), Betty Lynn Brooks and Jamiah Mostella, Lynn, John, Eddie Brooks, Keneisha Watson, Sylvia Reid, Jai & Tamiko Covington, a host of other relatives and friends.
