Latavia Dubose, 40, of Gadsden, passed away Friday, June 11, 2021 at her home.
Latavia Dubose, affectionately known as “Tay”, was born on November 1, 1980 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to Mr. James Dubose and the late Mrs. Joansie Dubose.
On Friday, June 11, 2021, Tay heard and answered the Master’s call.
After moving to Alabama, Latavia received her GED and went to work at McDonald’s, 10 years at Popeye’s in Anniston, Popeye’s in Gadsden, Tang Mart in Attalla and Aerotek.
To know Tay, was to love Tay. She was a beautiful person inside and out. Tay loved to cook, play video games and anything to do with a cellphone. She was an avid reader and would get lost in a book every chance she got.
Her passion was loving her family and she tried to be the point of contact for everything involving family. She loved her niece, Justice and her nephew, Jamari.
Words can’t even begin to express the love that she had for her Uncle “Tiger” (Jimmy Dubose). She did not play, under any circumstances, about him and would be ready to go to war with anybody about him. Tay loved to take care of anybody in need. She loved to travel every chance she got.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Joansie Dubose; Grandmother, Felecia Dubose; Aunts, Kimberly Jones and Joyce Mayse; and Uncles, Michael Freeman, David Mayse, and Al Mayse.
She leaves to cherish her memories: Father, James Dubose (Shandel Foster); Sister, Kenyadia Jelks; Brother, James Dante Dubose; Step-brother, Justin Foster; Aunts, Sharon Thomas, Tamatha Dubose, Margaret Jelks, Sonya Diamond and Michelle Lynch; Uncles, Jimmy Dubose, August Freeman, Michael Avery, Steve Diamond, Gary Hardy, Jerome Jelks, Bill Jelks, Rodney Mayse and Tony Dubose; Grandparents, Frank & Sharon Dubose; Favorite niece and nephew, Justice Jelks and Jamari Jelks. Great-aunt, Mable L. Jelks; Great-uncle, Paul E. Jelks; Special friends, Jamie Bolton, Derrick Leonard, Nikia Smith and Armean King. A host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be Friday, June 18, 2021 at Mission Baptist Church at 2:00 pm. Eulogist: Pastor Grady E. Robinson Jr.
