Ms. Mellaony Kassandra Spurgeon, 45, of Gadsden, passed away on July 26, 2021. Obituary Ms. Mellaony Kassandra Spurgeon was born July 22,1976 to the late Mrs. Helen Kay Spurgeon and Jerry Kendricks in Kentucky. On July 26, 2021, Mellaony heard the Master’s call and answered.
Mellaony is preceded in death by: her parents, Helen Kay Spurgeon & Jerry Kendricks; Brother, Antonio Spurgeon; Grandmothers, Pearlie Mae Spurgeon and Ester Kendricks; Grandfather, Thomas Kendricks.
Mellaony was educated in the Albertville City School System and graduated from Albertville High School.
She went on to become a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked for over 20 years in that field. She also was a Caregiver at Episcopal Kyle Homes and CAN at Northside Health and Rehab. She was very attentive to all her clients. She loved being a caregiver, loved to help others, play Candy Crush, and watch her grandbabies.
She gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was baptized at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, where she would sing in the choir and was in The Red Circle.
She will be truly missed by her family and friends.
Mellaony leaves to cherish her memories to: Two daughters, Mrs. Kassydi (Rashad) Carter of Birmingham, AL and Kylia Taylor of Gadsden, AL. Grandchildren, Cartel Jr., Kayleigh Carter, Kennedy Carter Jenique Jones, Aerianne Thomas, and Shemar Jr; Brothers, Carlos Campbell, Lemark Kendricks, and William Bill Jones; Aunts, Linda Stallworth, Vanessa (Thomas) Kirkland, Patricia Spurgeon, Dianne Spurgeon, Joyce (Sheldon) Shack, all of Albertville, AL, Juanita Spurgeon of Huntsville, AL, Jacqueline (Warren) Vincent, and of Niagra Falls, NY and Pearl Sanders of Gadsden, AL; Uncles, Jonathon Spurgeon of Albertville, AL and Ronald (Barbara) Kendricks of Gadsden, AL. Nieces, Mackenzie Little and Lah’Riyah Daniels; Nephews, Deshawn Spurgeon and Antonio Spurgeon; Special friend, Kevin Taylor; Bonus children, Imani Taylor and Sean Crook and a host of other relative and friends.
Public visitation will be Friday, 12noon-5pm. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 31, 2021 at the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Albertville, AL, at 1:00. Eulogist: Pastor Nelson.
